Founded in April 2023, Monochrome STEAM is a youth-led 501(c)(3) non-profit aimed at promoting diverse voices in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) through our magazine, The Monochrome.

At Monochrome STEAM, our mission is to cultivate a passion for STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) among young minds. Led by a team of passionate teen STEAM enthusiasts, we recognize a gap in opportunities for young voices to express their beliefs and experiences in STEAM subjects through what we call “monochrome lenses.”
In our vision, the term “monochrome” represents the external perception that STEAM subjects may appear uniform or singular in color. However, internally, they are a vibrant spectrum, rich with diverse voices, perspectives, and experiences.
We believe that each individual’s view contributes to the intricacy of STEAM, and our commitment lies in showcasing a diverse array of submissions that reflect the richness of these internal colors.
We’ve reached nearly two million individuals across all platforms from nearly fifty countries.
We are always looking for new submissions and welcome submissions from students aged 12-22 to submit to The Monochrome.
We welcome high school students aged 14-22 to join us in a variety of roles—editors, social media managers, and more.
